We are so excited to share the good news that Kendall’s F31 application to NINDS was funded! I’m so proud of her hard work on this proposal and for her thoughtful approach to her training plan and research plan! Woohoo, Kendall! We are so excited for you!
Summer undergrads in the R-G lab!
We enjoyed having 3 summer undergrad students in the lab and also to have 2 students returning! Catherine is off to Pfizer for a summer internship, so we have missed her, but have had a great summer in the lab with these wonderful folks!
CURO Summer Forum
Congratulations to Natalie for being accepted as a CURO Summer Fellow. She presented her work at the Fellows Forum today, and did a wonderful job!
Getting close to our lab move!
Our new space in the Chemistry Building (new name TBD) is nearly finished . We will have an improved animal care room, dedicated microscopy space, access to a more updated cold room, and GREATLY improved student and trainee spaces. Importantly, we will be in closer proximity to our CBIO colleagues and other folks in life sciences, which I hope will improve community and open doors for collaboration. Our move date will be in early August and I’ll post more when we get settled in! Excited!
Worm Squad to SDB in Atlanta
We were grateful to have the opportunity to attend the 83rd annual Society for Developmental Biology meeting in Atlanta, GA this week. Rachel was on the local organizing committee, which was a fantastic learning experience. All 5 graduate students (Kendall, Macey, Skylar, Christina, and Taylor) and our 2 more experienced summer undergrads (Natalie and Pierce) traveled to learn lots and present their work. We appreciate all of the questions, feedback and support!
