PREP@UGA Celebration
We met today to celebrate the latest (and last) cohort of PREP scholars at UGA. The PREP program lost funding as part of the NIH cuts, which is unfathomable since it has been SUCH an amazing and successful program. Our post-bacc Saraí presented her work beautifully and the entire cohort was spectacular. It was an emotional day given that we are all grieving this loss on our campus, but it was heart-warming to go out with such a bang.

Collab visit with Dawn at UGA!
It was great to spend a week doing science with one of my science besties, Dr. Dawn Hart! Dr. Hart and I have been collaborating for several years on a 1st yaer Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) at Grand Valley State University. She came down to work on some publications with me and also to learn immunofluoresence to take back to GVSU. It was great to reconnect with a scientist who had a pivotal role in my science career (she was a postdoc in the Gould lab where I was a grad student!). We had so much fun (and got work done, too!).
