We are so glad to be joined by Cameron Seitz and Alison Garland for rotation 2, through the ILS!
Happy New (Academic) Year!
It’s a new academic year at UGA, after a busy end of summer. I’ll be teaching a new crew of Cell Biology (CBIO3400) students and beginning my first year as an associate professor, after my promotion this month (woohoo!). We are welcoming back 5 Ph.D. students, welcoming ILS rotation students, and welcoming back 6 undergraduate researchers, so it’ll be a full house! We are also settling into our new space in Cedar St. C nicely and I have rushed to get my office looking nice and cozy for a new group of students! Come visit us on the 4th floor sometime soon!
Welcome Camila and Jazmine!
Offering a worm welcome to Rotation 1 students Jazmine Dent and Camila Gomes da Silva, who are joining us from the Integrated Life Sciences program!
CBIO Retreat
We had a wonderful day sharing great science and community with our CBIO folks. It was a great end to a hard week of the lab move. Kendall shared her work in an oral presentation and we heard from lots of other CBIO folks on their exciting work!
Home sweet home (in our new lab)!
A big week and we are now in the new lab in Cedar St. Building C (formerly the Chemistry building. This team did amazing work preparing for the move, packing, organizing, cleaning, strategizing, and working together as a team. We are all tired and ready to get settled into our new space. Thanks to all of our facilities, custodial, and administrative staff members who helped a TON with the move. And thanks to the very best group of worm wranglers!
